As a student at the University of Texas I was represented by the Country Store at age 18 as Gallery in Austin. The owner represented French master Edouard Cortes and encouraged me to study his paintings carefully as Cortes was a master of light and mood. He was a great influence on many young Texas painters in that day and this scene from 1973 was one of my interpretations of “The Boulevard”.
